Christian Dippon is a leading authority in complex litigation disputes, competition matters, and regulatory interventions with a particular focus in the telecommunications sector, the digital economy, consumer electronics, and the mining sector. He has over 28 years of experience quantifying economic harm to private parties and the public interest, assessing competitive conditions in antitrust investigations and regulatory proceedings, and analyzing the consumer effects of big tech litigation and digital market regulation.

Dr. Dippon has advised on matters related to business case expropriations, such as cancellations of mining permits and sales bans due to geopolitical and national security concerns. He has also helped clients resolve contractual disputes, including the handling of privacy sensitive data, and examine the consumer ramifications of anticompetitive conduct, such as claims of market dominance in the wearable technology sector and digital display sectors.

Dr. Dippon has extensive experience with mobile wireless, fixed wireless, satellite, and fixed networks and services and with smartphones and other devices that connect to these networks. He has also testified in matters pertaining to internet of things (IoTs), laptops, desktops, tablets, modems, set-top boxes, drones, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircrafts, renewable energy, and digital displays.

Dr. Dippon routinely testifies before judges and juries in federal and state courts, international arbitral tribunals (UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID, and ad hoc), domestic arbitrators (AAA), the US Federal Communications Commission, the US International Trade Commission, and domestic and international regulators and competition authorities. Global Arbitration Review (2019, 2020, 2023, 2024) and Financier Worldwide (2021, 2022) rank Dr. Dippon among the world’s leading international arbitration damages experts.

Dr. Dippon has published books, book chapters in anthologies, and articles on topics pertaining to damages in state-investor and commercial arbitrations, econometric techniques to consumer survey data, the definition of economic markets, competitive market assessments, and a range of regulatory topics. He also lectures in these areas at industry conferences, continuing education programs for lawyers, and universities. National and international newspapers and magazines including the Financial Times, Business Week, Forbes, the Chicago Tribune, and the Financial Post have cited his work.

Dr. Dippon serves on the editorial board of Elsevier’s Telecommunications Policy and as treasurer of the International Telecommunications Society. Dr. Dippon is a member of the American Economic Association and the International Bar Association. He is a Swiss-American economist who assists a global roster of clients and is fluent in German and conversational in French and Thai.
