Emily Walden has experience assessing the competitive effects of proposed mergers and acquisitions in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, oil and gas, and retail markets. Dr. Walden has conducted research on competition and antitrust issues and has published research on topics affecting these industries.

A long-time member of the American Bar Association, Dr. Walden currently serves as Chair of the Young Lawyers Division Antitrust Committee, Vice-Chair on the Antitrust Section Pricing Conduct Committee, and as the Young Lawyer Division Liaison to the Antitrust Section. She also served as Honorary Fellow for the University of Wisconsin, Madison's Department of Population Health Sciences from 2017–2019.
