C.-Philipp Heller advises on all aspects of competition and antitrust economics and market design. He is a trusted expert with experience applying rigorous economic theory, game theory, and econometrics, such as regression analysis, to assist his clients in complex antitrust matters. He has been recognized as one of 20 most recommended competition economists in Germany by JUVE.

Dr. Heller has successfully assisted companies and their legal advisors in matters involving competition litigation, public enforcement of competition law, merger control, international arbitration, regulatory policy, and regulatory proceedings. He also advises clients in determining fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) pricing. In addition to his work on antitrust issue, Dr. Heller advises on market design and auctions.

Dr. Heller has advised clients on matters across Europe and the UK and in various industries including telecommunications, energy, automotive, sports, music, online advertising, chemicals, consumer goods, financial services, lumber, steel, and transport. In particular, he has advised clients in matters before the European Commission, the German Federal Cartel Office, the German Federal Network Agency, the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), and national courts in Germany.

Dr. Heller‘s research has been published in leading international journals including American Economic Review, the Journal of Competition Law & Economics, the European Competition Journal, Concurrences, and Games and Economic Behaviour. He has also co-written a book chapter on damage quantification. Dr. Heller regularly speaks at conferences and seminars on antitrust and competition economics and market design.

Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Heller taught a seminar on market and auction design and received a Fulbright scholarship for a research visit to Stanford University.
