James Thomas specializes in competition, antitrust, and regulatory analysis in the UK and Europe. He has experience assisting clients in both the private and public sectors on a range of complex economic matters relating to abuse of dominance (including excessive pricing), cartels, market studies and investigations, mergers, and state aid.

His experience spans a number of markets including wholesale and retail telecommunications, trucks, software, energy, glass, and funerals. Mr. Thomas’ recent experience has involved preparing expert reports and their underlying economic analyses for litigations in standalone fixed voice services and trucks before the Competition Appeal Tribunal in the UK.
