NERA is delighted to partner with Paris Arbitration Week 2025 (PAW), which will take place 7–11 April. In its ninth edition, PAW brings together the international arbitration community for a week of professional and academic debates. Last year, PAW drew more than 10,000 global participants.

Director Ralph Meghames will participate in a panel discussion titled “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Experts but Never Dared to Ask” hosted by Bird & Bird. The panel will examine the increasingly vital role of experts in arbitration, highlighting the procedural pitfalls and challenges stakeholders may encounter and best practices in the field. The panel aims to enhance understanding of expert involvement in arbitration from various perspectives, including those of arbitrators and institutions.

Participants will gain insights into different expert roles such as single-joint and party-appointed experts and innovative practices like hot-tubbing. The event will also discuss important issues related to expert independence, diversity, and equality in expert selection, encouraging a dynamic dialogue among attendees. PAW aims to promote high standards and inclusivity within expert panels, ultimately enriching the arbitration process.
