On 24 November at 14:00 CET, NERA Associate Director Dominik Huebler will participate in the Future of Sustainable Data webinar and explore the topic “‘Reasonable Compensation’ Under the Draft Data Act—Enabler or Showstopper for a Data Economy.” Mr. Huebler will share an economist’s view on various approaches to what “reasonable” could mean in this context by looking at concepts of reasonable compensation used in the regulation of traditional monopolies like telecommunications and energy networks and other contexts such as data privacy litigation. Mr. Huebler will discuss how these might be applied in the context of the Data Act and the consequences their application could have for competition and innovation.
The webinar will be moderated by Wolf Theiss Partner Roland Marko, and Mr. Huebler will speak alongside the Austrian Institute of Technology Head of Center for Digital Safety & Security Helmut Leopold, Wolf Theiss Counsel Paulina Pomorski, and Mostly AI Chief Trust Officer Alexandra Ebert.
