On 21 November, NERA’s Berlin office will host a workshop organized by the German Institute for Energy and Regulatory Law (EnReg) on “Data Access in Regulated Industries: The Implications of the Data Act and Its Companions in the Energy and Transport Sector.” Director Dominik Huebler will give a talk titled “Economic Aspects of Valuing Data According to the Data Act and Other Regulations.”
Mr. Huebler will draw on NERA’s recent work valuing data in different contexts (e.g., damages for data breaches under GDPR and access to vehicle data under a sector-specific regulation). He will also assess the extent to which lessons learned from the regulation of classical monopolies carry over to the regulation of data access and look at the key challenges access seekers and data providers will face in navigating the brave new world.
