Edward Flores and Jacques Potin have been promoted to Director. In addition, Bernardo Danesi, Nataliia Guzenko, Zoë Fannon, Connie Lee, Joe Milbury, Francis Ostermeijer, Federico Sciacca, and Erdem Yenerdag have been promoted to Senior Consultant. Antonio Colomer, Kate Eyre, Greg Kreischer, Vlad Lee, Eugene Ng, Pierre-Maxime Reffray, Linnéa Rohde, Khalil Sabourian, and Hamza Shoaib are now Consultants.
Directors:
Edward Flores specializes in securities litigation and asset valuation disputes. He provides support to expert testimony and leads consulting projects advising clients on economic issues in securities class actions. Mr. Flores has conducted economic, financial, and statistical analyses examining issues such as market efficiency and class certification, assessing materiality and loss causation, and estimating damages across equity, debt, and derivative securities. As part of mediations, he has assisted clients on damages and settlement analyses under Rule 10b-5, Section 11, and Section 12. His experience spans several industries including pharmaceuticals, financial services, information technology, consumer goods, and energy. In addition, he has worked on matters involving the valuation of businesses and complex securities. He is also a co-author of NERA’s annual publication on recent trends in US securities class action litigation.
Based in Paris, Jacques Potin provides economic expertise to multinational companies on the design, implementation, documentation, and defense of their intra-group pricing policies and on the valuation of intangible property. He notably assists clients in designing profit split models and negotiating Advance Pricing Agreements with tax authorities. Dr. Potin also provides litigation support to clients in various industries, with his recent work advising multinational companies spanning the telecommunications, software, cosmetics, food and nutrition, hospitality, and construction and civil work sectors.
Senior Consultants:
Bernardo Danesi has significant experience advising multinational companies on their intra-group cross-border transactions, with a specific focus on the financial services and energy industries. He has helped clients address specific regulatory issues in the asset management and utilities industries. In transfer pricing, Mr. Danesi has advised on design issues, IP-related transactions, and financing transactions. He has also advised clients on transactions in the energy space and disputes in the context of shareholder damages valuations, tax settlements, and collective action in the energy space.
Nataliia Guzenko has particular expertise in transfer pricing planning, policy design and modeling, compliance and economic analyses, APA procedures, intellectual property valuation, tax reassessment disputes, and arbitration. Ms. Guzenko also has extensive knowledge in financial analysis and corporate crediting. She has worked with clients in various industries including media, telecommunications, cosmetics, dairy, hospitality, luxury retail, and IT.
Zoë Fannon advises energy sector clients on economic regulation and energy markets, particularly in the context of the energy transition. She has supported regulators and energy market participants on topics including market design, dominance, alleged market abuse, and pricing policy. Dr. Fannon has particular expertise in data analysis, quantitative modeling, and econometrics. Her works spans multiple jurisdictions including Ireland, the UK, continental Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
Based in Paris, Connie Lee has worked on a variety of competition matters including abuse of dominance, merger assessments, and market studies. Dr. Lee has a range of experience spanning industries including retail, energy, food, financial services, and media, with particular expertise in innovative industries such as ad tech, cloud services, and fintech.
Joe Milbury has worked on antitrust and intellectual property issues in litigation and economic consulting for nine years. Mr. Milbury specializes in applying econometrics and IP valuation analyses to many industries including automobile parts, pharmaceuticals, mobile phone software, and internet services providers (ISPs).
Francis Ostermeijer has deep expertise in econometrics and transport markets, combining academic rigor with practical advisory. He advises public and private sector clients in the road, rail, aviation, housing, and construction sectors on impact appraisal, evaluation, cost benefit analysis, regulation, damage assessment, and forecasting.
Federico Sciacca advises utilities and investors on the regulation of natural monopolies in the energy, water, and transport sectors. He regularly supports networks during price control reviews on cost assessment and efficiency benchmarking, cost benefit analyses to justify expenditure proposals, and the design of regulatory mechanisms.
Erdem Yenerdag provides expert economic analysis for complex litigation and antitrust matters within the communications, internet, and high-tech sectors. He has supported expert testimony in courts in the United States and in international arbitration. Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Yenerdag was a research scientist at Meta, where he focused on the digital economy.
